Ramkhamhaeng station reopens after fire in a nearby shop early yesterday. The airport train operator confirmed the resumption of normal services at the station.

A fire broke out around 4.30am in a shop adjacent to one of the station’s entry escalators, prompting the temporary closure for passenger safety. The fire was quickly contained.

Although train services continued, trains did not stop at Ramkhamhaeng, and commuters were directed to use Makkasan or Hua Mak stations instead.

Traffic radio Jor Sor 100 reported that the fire started around 4.30am on the ground floor of a building approximately four metres from the escalator. Station officials promptly cut off the power. Firefighters extinguished the blaze within 20 minutes.
