Six Thailand airports will use facial recognition technology

Updated: Nov 7

The Bangkok Post reports that facial recognition technology will be used at six airports in Thailand by the end of this year, so passengers will only need to show their identification card once.

This technology will be used at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang International Airports, as well as Chiang Mai International Airport.

It will also be used at Chiang Rai, Phuket and Hat Yai International Airports, and it will be available for domestic passengers on November 1 and international passengers on December 1. To use this system, passengers must register for the flight themselves at the airport.

After that, the technology collects passengers' personal information about the trips, and it will be allowed to board the flight without having to show your passport or boarding pass.
